The Baitrunner has deep roots in the Australian fishing scene, having been first conceptualised right here. The OC release still contains a lot of the features that have made the Baitrunner a household name in this country, but also features advances that are going to take this iconic range of reels well into the future. Some of the upgraded features include a machined handle, a replaceable spool clicker, Varispeed Oscillation to provide a perfect line lay with Power Pro braid, and Propulsion Line Management to increase distance while casting. The Baitrunner lever moves towards the body to stop any accidental gear changes, and with three double-sided, shielded stainless steel bearings and an anti-reverse bearing, this range continues to dominate the bait fishing reel market.

- Superb floatlinining / strayline reel

I own 6000,8000, and 12000 oc models and an 8000D. All are used for floatlining pillies and livies in water depths typically between 60 and 85 metres off the gold coast in QLD. Target species are usually snapper and amberjack with by products of pearlies, kingfish, mulloway and trag. Typical weights used between .5oz and 1.5oz with drops of 200m to 300m of braid line out while drifting.
Reels are superb and faultless with drags easy to handle and line falling off spool easily. Pick up is clean and I never feel under any pressure to rush or force the fish to the boat. Clean at end of day in a bucket of fresh warm water. No problems over 6-8years I have used them. Recommend coloured banded jbraid or depth pro with range of 20, 30 and 40 lbs.
I keep the 12000 oc for floatlining livies on 2oz for kingies over 50 fathom reefs as 12kg of drag is barely adequate as is 50lb braid.
