Nirey Electric Knife Sharpener

The KE-198 is designed for recreational use.

How the SHARPENER works:

There are two spring loaded Aluminium Oxide grinding wheels (coarse and fine), which apply a controlled pressure to the blade of the knife.  Please note that this machine is a sealed unit and there are no replacement parts, however, under normal profile use, the sharpening wheels are guaranteed for life.

The grooves in each section hold the knife at a 15º angle giving you a perfect cutting edge, which is impossible when using a steel.

The left groove in each section sharpens the right hand side of the knife and the right groove, the left side.  The knives are sharpened in the coarse section (marked 1) and polished to a razor finish in the fine section (marked 2).

The KE-3000 is designed for recreational and semi-commercial use.

Included with your purchase is the machine which is set with fine abrasives (finishing belts), a training DVD and a cleaning brush. We strongly recommend that you also purchase a pair of medium abrasive belts fitted on carrier wheels (for faster reprofiling of knives) and a spare set of fine abrasive belts. 

The Nirey KE-3000 utilises a totally new concept in professional knife sharpening. Featuring a patented cushion contact system which not only produces edges sharper than when the knife was new, but also produces a polished finish - eliminating the need for honing. The Nirey KE-3000 uses the same sharpening system as the Nirey KE-280 but has a lighter frame, motor and gearbox.

How the SHARPENER works:

There are 2 closed-cell rubber covered wheels, each carrying endless Aluminium Oxide fine abrasive belts. The left wheel sharpens the left side of the blade and the right wheel, the right side. The cushion contact system produces a razor sharp smooth cutting edge which does not require a honing steel. During sharpening, the knife is supported at the correct angle by the central guide. Cleaning and replacement of the abrasives is simple, taking less than 1 minute. Other than this, no maintenance is required.

The KE-280 is designed for continuous commercial use.

Included with your purchase is the machine which is set with fine abrasives (finishing belts), a training DVD and a cleaning brush. It's set up with a heavy duty motor and transmission and it's the V8 in the range of sharpeners.
